The club discovered yesterday that they have a link to Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers. Attending sports merchandise trade show SMEX at Wembley Stadium, club Assistant Secretary Gareth Coates bumped into Terry Finch of Ties International who revealed that, after winning the Football League Championship, the Wolves decided to produce a commemorative tie. The Molineux club were very taken with our own distinctive black, tangerine and white design and wanted to produce their own version. However, Ties International refused to allow the Wolves to use our tie and instead helped them to adapt it to create their own version. Only thirty ties were produced, which were then presented by the club to the title-winning players and staff. Wolves were kind enough to donate a signed pennant to the Paul Burgess Testimonial, so we are more than happy to have provided the inspiration for their special tie. Whether we can use this to persuade them down for a pre-season game is, at this stage, unclear but we have identified some new merchandising opportunities that we will be developing in the coming months. In the meantime, the inspiring neckwear is available to buy online.
