At the end of the Annual General Meeting, goalkeeper Craig Ross disclosed to the Official Website that he is leaving the club to join Carshalton Athletic. The young stopper stated that, while he had enjoyed representing the club he had supported as a boy, he wanted to play at the highest level possible. Craig paid tribute to the club, stating that he had been particularly grateful for the backing the club had given him when he suffered a serious injury and that he would continue to follow the fortunes of the Ash Trees. However, prior to the meeting a far more positive piece of player related news was confirmed when Billy Jeffreys put pen to paper and signed a new contract with the club. The former Millwall defender received a number of approaches from other clubs and has elected to stay at The Robert Parker Stadium. He has also been appointed the club captain by manager Jamie Lawrence. A clearly delighted skipper spoke to Gareth Coates on Wednesday evening and indicated that he believes the squad is capable of achieving an immediate promotion back to Step Three.
