Ashford Town (Middlesex) FC will field a Reserve Team in the Western Division of the Capital League next season, after being elected to the League at its' AGM on Monday night. The Ash Trees were one of seven new clubs admitted to the constitution, which will consist of three regionalised divisions. The other clubs in our own section are Burnham, Biggleswade Town, Harrow Borough, Hayes & Yeading United, Hitchin Town, Staines Town, Wealdstone and Windsor & Eton. This means the league programme will consist of sixteen matches, which is slightly less than half the number that would have been played by the side if we had remained in the Suburban League. The Capital League is a midweek league, which is a further advantage given the groundshare with Staines Lammas, which will restrict pitch availability on Saturdays. Although the club was sad to end its association with the Suburban League after ten very happy years, we have been made most welcome by the Capital League and hope for an equally fruitful spell in membership of that competition.
