Friday night is football night round at Bob's Place, as Ashford Town welcome Bradford City for a pre-season match. The Bantams, who compete in Football League 2, are bringing a full-strength side to the Robert Parker Stadium as part of a tour that also includes three matches in Essex, two of which resulted in a comfortable win at Essex Olympian League side Stambridge United and a narrow defeat at Canvey Island. Ashford are expected to include manager Jamie Lawrence in their squad, with the Jamaica international determined to lead from the front against a club for whom he retains huge affection. Kick-off is an earlier than usual 7.00pm, with admission set at £8 for adults, £5 for students or senior citizens and £2 for children under 16. The club is also launching its new-look, full colour matchday magazine, which is also £2.00. There is ample parking and the bar will be open, although no alcohol or glass will be allowed inside the stadium itself.
