Ashford entertain high flying Biggleswade Town on Saturday in the very first ever match between the clubs. The Bedfordshire team are in good form at present, sitting in fourth place in the table, and unbeaten in nine league games since losing 2-4 away to Barton Rovers on 20 November. One man to watch is Biggleswade striker Paul Barnes, who became an AFC Wimbledon favourite for the short period that he was with the club. Biggleswade will though be without defender Liam Folds and midfielder Ashley Fuller, both suspended. On the home front, International Clearance having finally been obtained, we welcome Italian born Christian Nanetti to the Club, who has joined us from Raith Rovers in Scotland. Prior to that, Christian, who is an attacking midfield player, was a highly successful member of QPR’s Under-18 side and well regarded by Neil Warnock. Despite the incident packed defeat at Daventry in midweek, Ashford have been playing some excellent football lately and it could be a great game tomorrow, kicking off at Short Lane at 3.00 p.m. Here are the junior fixtures for Sunday, as supplied by Kelvin Poulter: | Home Fixtures @ ATFC | Away Fixtures | | Under 12s v Worcester Park KO 10:30 Manager Mick Under 13s v Barnes Eagles KO 12:00 Manager Mark Under 16s Town v Sandgate Manager Ben Kick Off 14:00 | Under 9s v SCR Arrows Under 10s v AFC Walcountians Under 11s v Old Isleworthians Under 14s v No Game Under 14s v Sheen Lions Under 14s v No Game Under 15s v Corinthian Casuals Under 16s v Sheen Lions |
