Ashford Town's Under 18 team secured their third win in succession with an emphatic 5-0 win at Bracknell Town.  The first half was even, with both sides enjoying plenty of possession but lacking a cutting edge up front.  The only goal of the first period fell to Byron Watkins, whose header from a corner was too powerful for the home 'keeper.

The stopper played outfield in the second half and showed real talent.  However, it was the visitors who would emerge with the win, partly thanks to their own application and partly due to a final ten minutes in which the Robins lost their shape and allowed their heads to drop.  Although the hosts had a number of opportunities to score, the second goal came in the 56th minute when a Jimmy Stanford free kick was headed back across goal by Lewis Wombwell and bundled home by Ben Kandebi.  Bracknell had chances of their own, but the third goal came from a penalty, awarded by a distant referee after Wombwell was brought down.  Taylor Gough's finish was emphatic.

Four minutes after that, it was 4-0 after an Alex Zanit drive from 25 yards went under the goalkeeper.  The fifth came three minutes from time when a fine passing move led to a super cross from the left flank, which was headed home by the impressive Wombwell.

Afterwards, Manager Mick Snowden admitted that he was disappointed that his side had allowed Bracknell to create so many chances, but also praised his players' application and passing.  A number of the squad will feature at Westfield tomorrow, which bodes well both or the boys and for the future of the club.
