Two goals from Paul Johnson were not enough to give Ashford Town a share of the spoils at Dover Athletic. The popular midfielder gave the Tangerines a second minute lead, only for Athletic to equalise almost immediately. A second Johnson goal put Ashford back in front, but the home side equalised before half time. By all accounts, Dover had the better of the second half, and ended it a further goal to the good but Ashford had chances of their own to score. Terry Ryan's Match Report is here. A poor day all-round was compounded by the Reserves losing 4-3 at home to Metropolitan Police. Ashford lead 2-1 at half time, and 3-1 three minutes into the second half, thanks to a spectacular free kick from Martin Jackson and two goals from Adam Foulser. However a poor second half performance littered with individual errors, not least from goalkeeper Dan Cox, allowed the Blues to snatch an unlikely three points. The report is here.
