Jamie Lawrence joined Ashford Town (Middlesex) as Manager in November 2009 following the departure of Mark Butler. A winger who won 24 caps for Jamaica, scoring once, Jamie started his career at Cowes Sports, before joining Sunderland. He played 277 games in an eleven year career in professional football, scoring 18 goals and winning the Carling Cup with Leicester City in 1997. He also includes Bradford City, Wigan Athletic, Grimsby Town and Brentford among his previous clubs. After leaving Griffin Park, Jamie spent time at Worthing and Harrow Borough, before playing two matches for Margate in the 2009-10 campaign. Although his role at Short Lane is his first senior managerial appointment, Jamie also runs a successful football academy in South London so brings a strong coaching background as well as top-flight playing experience.
