Ashford Town's first warm-up match, away to CB Hounslow United, was brought to a premature end early in the second half when Ash Trees youngster Phillip Ochur suffered a broken leg. Phiilip is a versatile and dynamic midfielder and played a prominent role in the Suburban League side's strong end to last season.
Ashford fielded a mixture of youngsters and untested newcomers and were leading by 4-1 at the time of the abandonment, thanks to two goals from Malachi Bulley and one each from George Jennings and a triallist. Assistant Manager Neil Cumming said that, until the injury to Ochur, "the match was a good contest and we saw some excellent performances". All at the Club send their best wishes to Phillip for a speedy recovery.
