The pre-season programme has seen some changes over the last few days. The main change is an additional match, which will see an Ashford Town XI take on Southall FC on August 8th. Southall are one of the oldest names in non-league football, having originally been founded in 1871 and reached the Finals of both the FA Amateur Cup and FA Vase.
Now playing in the Middlesex County League, in which they finished fifth last season, Southall will be hosting the Ash Trees as Wilson Frimpong runs the rule over the club's youngsters ahead of the new Suburban League season. The match will be played at Northolt Rugby Club, with a 3.00pm kick-off. As previously reported, the Under-18s match at Lyne FC has been cancelled, as Lyne's manager has recently joined another club, taking the bulk of the players with him. Work is ongoing on arranging an alternative fixture, which will be announced as soon as possible.
