A fairly quiet midweek looms for the Tangerines with only the Under-18’s in action and that is not until Thursday evening, when they will be making the short but traffic ridden trip to Kingsbury London Tigers in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup, kick-off 7.45 p.m. The address of the ground is Silver Jubilee Park Townsend Lane Kingsbury London, NW9 7NE
Kingsbury LT are a fairly new club, formed as a result of a merger in 2006 between the original Kingsbury Town and London Tigers, a Bangladeshi community led youth & sports charity organisation established in 1986. They are based in the City of Westminster, although working across the London Boroughs of Camden, Brent, Ealing, Harrow and Tower Hamlets.
Ben Murray will have his troops raring to go following their opening day 3-0 league win in the Ryman Youth League last Wednesday at Walton & Hersham and, although the Tigers are bound to offer keen resistance, he will be very keen to make it through to the next round and a home game against Wealdstone’s Under-18’s.
Last season Ashford saw off the challenge of Haringey Borough, Harefield United and Fisher Athletic before succumbing in the final qualifying round to Hayes & Yeading, just one step away from reaching the Competition Proper.
