With both clubs now free, Ashford will be travelling to Hastings United on Saturday 31 October instead of the scheduled date of Tuesday 24 November. Thanks go to Hastings for agreeing to the switch and saving us yet another difficult midweek trip.
This midweek there are two matches at Short Lane. On Tuesday evening the Suburban side entertain Ash United Reserves and a win could see the Tangerines climb to third place in the Premier Division table.
On Wednesday the Under-18’s will face Woking U18 in the 3rd and final qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup. Ashford have seen off the challenges of Kingsbury, Wealdstone and Croydon Athletic to make it to this stage whilst Woking have accounted for Worthing, Tooting and Molesey. .
Ashford have never previously made it into the 1st Round Proper but if they manage it this time, a plumb home tie awaits against the Under 18 team of League 2 side Dagenham & Redbridge.
Information has come today that in the 1st Round of the Ryman Youth League Cup, we have been drawn at home to Boreham Wood with the winners to face, yes you’ve guessed it, Hayes & Yeading. At least we would be at home were we to get through!
