Two goals in three minutes helped Ashford Town (Middlesex) come from behind to record a 3-2 win at home to Tonbridge Angels this afternoon. The first half exploded into life four minutes before half time when Brian Haule finished a quick, incisive move. However, Tonbridge equalised just three minutes later when lackadaisical defending allowed defender Liam Harwood to head home. The Angels looked to have extended their winning run over the Ash Trees when Paul Booth ran through and gave them the lead in the 48th minute. The visitors had a good spell and Ashford were indebted to goalkeeper Craig Ross, who made a couple of excellent saves to keep his team in it. Brian Haule made way for Scott Harris in the 52nd minute and "Hatchet" transformed his side's movement. The hosts came right back into the game and levelled the match in the 61st minute when Byron Harrison (pictured) sprung the offside trap. Although he looked to have made his run too early, the offside flag stayed down for Harrison to score his 50th first team goal on his 100th appearance. Just two minutes later, Ashford regained the lead when Paul Johnson ran through to slot the ball home. This goal sparked a second set of furious protests from the visiting players and management, which saw goalkeeper Lee Worgan cautioned and a member of the Tonbridge coaching staff sent from the dugout. The remainder of the game saw both teams have strong spells and Ashford had a fourth "goal" chalked off for offside and created a number of other opportunities. However, Tonbridge had a strong finish to the match, and Craig Ross made a quite magnificent save in the 85th minute to keep his team in front. Tonbridge threw everyone forward throughout the seven minutes of stoppage time, but Ashford held out for a deserved win.
