Firstly a reminder that the “big” match will be on the screen in the Clubhouse this evening and that everyone, even Manchester United supporters, will be welcome to come along and enjoy the action. In case you fancy more live action, the Middlesex Ladies will be taking on Hampshire Ladies at Short Lane tonight, kick-off 7.30 p.m. Meanwhile yesterday evening, the Suburban team made further progress in the League Cup, beating a committed Harefield United team by the only goal of the game, scored by Oliver Blackman, just past the half hour mark. In very cold conditions, both teams played a full part in an entertaining match and Harefield will rue the number of chances they missed in a prolonged spell in the second half. They found Dane Buss in top form though in the Ashford goal and the Tangerines now go on to a quarter final home match against either Bedfont Reserves or AFC Wimbledon Reserves.
