Ashford look forward to the visit of Billericay Town on Saturday, knowing that a win could propel them into the play-off positions. It will not be easy though as the visitors, although still languishing in 20th position, are actually top of the form table with four wins and a draw from their last six games and seem to have turned their season around. If recent form between the sides is any form of guide Ashford hold the whip hand with emphatic home wins over their Essex rivals in the last two seasons and they can also point to a narrow win at Billericay earlier in the season. One thing is certain though: if Ashford are to take anything from the match, they will have to perform better than they did last Saturday against Waltham Abbey. The match tomorrow is being sponsored by ex Ashford player and manager John Doe, who will be fondly remembered by older members of the Ashford contingent. John was a prolific scorer in his day and quite a character. He now lives near Billericay but will be at the match tomorrow and will be delighted to see any old friends who would like to be re-acquainted. Davis Haule remains unavailable as he completes his suspension but otherwise, having had the benefit of a full week’s rest, Jamie should have more or less a full squad from which to pick his team The Suburban side will be visiting Leatherhead in search of league points and should be buoyant following their hard fought win over Harefield on Tuesday in the Suburban League Cup. A date has now been agreed for their Middlesex Premier Cup semi-final date away to neighbours Bedfont Sports, the match having been arranged for Wednesday 10 February
