A fairly quiet midweek is in prospect with only the Under-18’s in action. They will make the short trip to play Hampton & Richmond Borough FC on Wednesday evening in a Ryman Youth League match, kick off 7.45 p.m. Back in September, playing at home, Ashford rattled in seven goals without reply against the Beveree boys but their results have picked up considerably since then and they are now in second place in the division although they have played three matches more than Ashford who continue to hold the top spot. Results last week saw Hampton drawing with Harrow Borough and Staines losing to Woking. The 1st Team now face three very difficult games, starting with a trip to league leaders Dartford on Saturday, followed on the Tuesday with a shorter journey to Wealdstone. The next 1st Team match at home is on Sat 27 Feb, when Sutton United will be the visitors. Good news on the injury front is that Guy Hollis does not appear to have broken his ankle as first suspected but is suffering from severe bruising. Those going to the Youth match will, of course, need to record it if they wish to watch, but on Wednesday evening, Jamie and the Club will be featured on Football Mundial on Sky Sports (not sure which channel). Why not come down to the Club to watch it? This evening’s darts match has been cancelled as neither of our two possible opponents could raise a team.
