Ashford travel to 9th placed Colliers Wood United FC on Wednesday evening, hoping to arrest the mini slide that has seen them lose three away matches in a row, after winning the first eight on the bounce.

The run of defeats has coincided with the loss through injury of crucial players and, whilst not an excuse, it is comforting to know that some of them will be back for this evening’s match, which as a 7.30 p.m. kick-off.

Colliers Wood are a team who try to play good fast football on the floor and on what we expect will be a perfect surface this evening, an excellent match will hopefully be on the cards.  Our opponents sit in 9th place in the table, having won five and lost four of their ten league matches to date.  They lost rather unexpectedly on Saturday at home to Spelthorne Sports but prior to that had won 4-0 at Guildford City.  One player to watch out for is Mario Embalo, who is a proven goal scorer for them over several seasons.

The address of the ground is the Wibbandune Sports Ground, Robin Hood Way (A3), Wimbledon, SW20 0AA.  There is a car park at the ground but it is small so unless you are very early it is probably better to park in the service road on the other side of the main road and walk over the footbridge.
