It’s back to the League on Saturday for Ashford as they make the short trip to Bedfont Sports FC.

Under Mick Snowden, Sports currently sit in 18th place in the table but they have games in hand on all the clubs around them and are in something of a false position at the moment.  Our opponents have a number of players who have played for Ashford including, of course, recent recruit Paul Johnson from Spelthorne Sports.  Others are Joe Hughes, Danny Byron and Adam Fearn.

Ashford managed to do the double last season last season in the League but our neighbours had their revenge in the Middlesex Senior Cup, which they won on penalties, following a four all draw.  The address of the ground is Bedfont Sports Club, Hatton Road, Bedfont, TW14 8JA and kick-off is 3.00 p.m.

Ashford will come into the game with three successive wins behind them and with key players rested on Tuesday in the League Cup match, should be in good heart.  Sports drew at Redhill in their most recent match and lost narrowly 2-3 at home to AFC Hayes last Tuesday week.

Our partners British Airways are at home in the Middlesex County League to Deportivo Galicia on Saturday. whilst on Sunday the Ladies are away to Colne Valley Reserves in the 1st Round of the Capital Women’s Junior Cup at Kenyngton Manor Rec, Sunbury, kick-off 2.00 p.m.  Colne Valley Reserves play in Division Two of the Greater London Women’s League, one higher than Ashford Ladies, and have won two, drawn one and lost one of their matches to date, so it should be a tougher test than usual for the girls.  The winners will be at home to Brook House Ladies in the 2nd Round.
