Ashford make the short trip down to Guildford City on Saturday for the first meeting this season between the clubs.  Guildford will be playing at home for the first time in eight weeks following renovation work at their ground designed to cure a specific drainage problem.  We have been warned that the pitch will not look pretty but that it is playable.

The home side currently sit in 16th place in the table with seven victories and eleven defeats from their twenty league matches to date.  Last time out they found themselves on the wrong end of a 0-4 defeat at Epsom & Ewell, preceded by a 2-4 defeat at Camberley Town.  Within their ranks is currently Harry Driver, ostensibly on loan, along with Nathan Turner who had a few matches for us in the Southern League two seasons back.

Last season, we managed to win 3-2 at Guildford, courtesy of goals from Dan Fleming, Russell Canderton and Jack Beadle, although we made hard work of it.

The address of the ground is, of course, The Spectrum, Parkway, Guildford, GU1 1UP and there is plenty of parking.  Kick-off is at 3.00 p.m.

News from the League is that Cove FC have been granted a three match suspension of fixtures.  It is hoped this wil help the club to stabilise after finding themselves unable to raise a side in two recent away matches.

Also, as has been reported, our match at home to Windsor on Monday 28 December will kick off at 1.00  p.m by mutual agreement.
