Whilst not completely new ground, as there was a pre-season friendly between our clubs on 10 July 2006, which ended one apiece, Ashford will be meeting (almost) new opponents on Saturday when they travel to Bedford Town in search of league points to augment their current 8th place in the table.

The address of the ground is The Eyrie, Meadow Lane, Cardington, Bedfordshire MK44 3LW.  Kick-off is at 3.00 p.m. and it is a journey of just over 60 miles mostly M25 and M1.  Bedford currently sit in 15th place in the table with two wins and five defeats in their eight league matches to date, but every single defeat has been to an odd goal, including to AFC Dunstable in the FA Cup.  For this level they are well supported with an average home attendance this season of 205, second only to Farnborough.

The Tangerines will be in good shape following last Saturday’s 5-1 victory over Kidlington and to the writer’s knowledge there are no new injuries.
