After a number of years in its preparation, our Company Secretary Gareth Coates has completed his book on the history of Ashford Town, and it is now available for purchase on Amazon.  Below is the message from Gareth, who will be down from Liverpool on Saturday 22 October, when we entertain Barton Rovers, to officially launch the book.  We hope that quite a few old "Ashfordians" will be present including the record goal scorer from a single match in the club's history, Graham Atkin, who achieved this feat that has never been beaten, back in the 60's.

Here is Gareth's message:

I'm delighted to announce that "From Albion to Zazzera - The History of Ashford Town (Middlesex) FC" is out now! There are two versions available; the paperback is £9.99 and there is also a Kindle eBook at £4.99.

The book contains a summary of every season from 1958-59 to 2015-16, as well as a little bit of information about notable clubs who played in Ashford and Stanwell before our club was established. There are also profiles of all the players who have gone on to play in the Football League, or who have played international football and represented Ashford. There's also a chapter dedicated to a small selection of the many people who have helped to develop the club over the years. This was a very difficult section to compose, as it would be easy to fill a seperate book just with profiles of all the people who deserve inclusion in an Ashford "Hall of Fame".

Both versions are available to order from Amazon. The best way to do this is to go to and sign up as a supporter if you haven't already. Then click through to Amazon and search for "Ashford Town". Then, order the book (and anything else you like).

Easyfundraising is free, includes over 1,000 online retailers and doesn't affect the price you pay. But every time you use it to shop online, a cut of the cost comes back to the club.

It's incredible to have finally finished this project after about seven and a half years. I hope that it will be an interesting and enjoyable read for all my fellow Tangerines.

Best Regards,
