Ashford were beaten again this afternoon, at home to Hampton & Richmond Borough, but could take plenty of positives from an encouraging performance.

The match was decided by a single goal, scored in the 18th minute by the Beavers' JJ Bates, who lobbed Paul McCarthy after a defence-splitting pass from Karle Calder.  However, the Ash Trees played well against higher level opposition, with Dan Brown, Mark Bitmead, Ashley Lodge and Conor Moody all testing the visiting goalkeepers.

In addition, there was some good football played by both sides and the players all got some valuable game time. There is a brief match report online.
