U18’s have had a bad week, losing on Thursday evening to Northwood in the Lucas-Fettes (Ryman Youth League) Cup at Northwood.  We understand that the score after extra time was two apiece but that Ashford lost 3-4 on penalties.  This is on top of Monday’s defeat at the hands of Enfield Town in the Middlesex Senior Youth Cup.

The Ladies who play in the Greater London Women’s League on Sunday afternoons are struggling a little in personnel at the moment due to injuries despite manager Kate Cook’s best endeavours in attracting new players.  If you read this, therefore, and are a femalewho can play football and would like to join Ashford, playing in a proper stadium each week, when at home, please get in touch.  Kate can be reached through the Ladies Secretary Stewart Cook on 07946 170277.

There will be a preview tomorrow of our 1st Team match on Saturday at home to Aylesbury but before the game, at 2.00 p.m., we will have the official unveiling of the new sign as we re-name the bar “Ernie’s Bar” in fond memory of our late President Ernie Britzman, who died last year.  Ernie was a founder member of the Club and once his playing career as a goalkeeper came to an end he fulfilled just about every role possible at the club, including manager.  We hope that Vera, Ernie’s wife and family will be present and this is an open invitation to everyone who knew Ernie to come down to the Club on Saturday afternoon.
