Barton RoversMatches continue to come thick and fast and all three of Ashford’s senior teams are scheduled to be in action this midweek.

This evening (Monday) the Under-18’s are due to get back in action with a home game against Potters Bar Town FC in the Ryman Youth League.  The lads have not played for over a month now since beating Bedfont Sports .  Potters Bar are in second place in the table and Ashford are third from bottom but a win this evening would see them climbing to within a point of their opponents, so bunched up are things at present.  Hopefully the freezing temperatures that are forecast for this week will allow the match to go ahead.  The address of the ground is:  Sharpenhoe Road, Barton-Le-Clay, Beds, MK45 4SD.

Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) it is the turn of the 1st Team to take the field and they will be away to Barton Rovers in the League, following the postponement of this game earlier in November for a frozen pitch.  Ashford’s recent revival sees them five points and five places above Barton in the table but they are always a tough proposition home or away.  Last season honours were shared with our Bedfordshire opponents, as we lost 0-1 at home but managed a 4-2 victory at Barton near the end of the season.

On Wednesday the Suburban team are due to be in action again, but now at home to different opponents, namely Hartley Wintney, as the original opponents, Harefield United now have a delayed County Cup match.

Kick-off for all matches is 7.45 p.m.

Any information that comes the writer’s way regarding possible postponements will be put on here but it will always be best to check with the club (01784 245908) for the latest information on any of the matches.

Don’t forget the Christmas Social at the Club from around 8.00 pm on Thursday 20 December, when everyone associated with Ashford Town, especially supporters, is invited to come along.
