Ashford Town Ladies followed up last week's league win over Islington Borough with another victory, this time in the John Greenacre Memorial Trophy where they defeated higher league opposition Luton Town Reserves.

Despite the league placings Ashford started very well but the visitors to Short Lane always looked dangerous on the break.  The deadlock was broken midway through the half when Lucy Easton was fed the ball by Terri Harper and unleashed an unstoppable strike from some 20 yards!  Despite Luton applying some pressure of their own it was the home side who scored again just before half time when Nicola Archer fired a freekick from the edge of the ‘Tank End’ penalty area in off the underside of the crossbar to double the lead.

Luton fought back in the second period but Hannah Smith was not to be beaten in the Tangerine's goal as she dominate her area on corners and crosses and pulled off a remarkable reflex save down to her left to keep a deserved clean sheet.
