Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of England U-23 international and former Chelsea FC player Georgie Giddings.  The player has signed GLWFL forms for the club following clearance being granted on Friday morning by The FA having completed her time in the USA playing for UConn (University of Connecticut).

Giddings (aged 22) joins up with Manager Kate Cook for the second time, having played previously for her at near neighbours Staines Town where she enjoyed a successful spell lifting the Russell Cup before going on to capture a league and county cup double at Chelsea.  She has also represented England at U-17, U-19 and U-23 age groups.

It is understood the player will travel to Sweden shortly where she has been invited to trial for professional outfit IK Sirius but in the meantime is due to feature in Sunday’s squad at Short Lane where the ladies team host Northwood.

Although her time at the RPS will be short-lived, we hope to see her in the tangerine stripes again sometime in the future.
