Guildford CityBoosted by Tuesday’s County Cup semi-final win, Ashford will entertain Guildford City for the very first time at Short Lane on Saturday and expect a very tough match.

Guildford were promoted at the end of last season from the Combined Counties League and six straight wins emphasised that they had not arrived solely to make up the numbers.  The seventh match brought a reversal in fortunes though with a 1-6 defeat at Rugby Town and a run of eight games without a win either side of the Christmas period saw them slipping down the table.  Since then they have rallied again and will arrive at Short Lane in 7th place.  Recent form shows a defeat at Uxbridge on Tuesday by three goals to two but before that they won 1-0 at Aylesbury and 3-1 at home to Northwood.

Kick off as usual is at 3.00 p.m.

The Suburban Team is also in action on Saturday and the lads have the opportunity to cement their place at the top of their Shield Group if they are able to overcome Molesey at their Walton Road ground.
