Thatcham TownMATCH AGAINST THATCHAM IS POSTPONED DUE TO THE PITCH BEING WATERLOGGED

Firstly there is good news in that Jack Mullan’s operation went as well as could be expected and all being well, he hopes to be with us at the Club on Saturday.  It seems though that the injury will keep him out of football for the best part of a year and that may be an optimistic forecast.

Ashford now have to put Tuesday’s match behind them and look forward to entertaining Thatcham Town on Saturday at Short Lane.  This is the first season in which the clubs have ever met and with their last minute win against the Tangerines back in November, Thatcham currently have a 100% record against us.

Thatcham have had one or two topsy-turvy results lately, enjoying a creditable draw away at Daventry before going on to lose 0-2 at home to a rejuvenated North Greenford United.  Last Saturday they had a home win by two goals to one over Barton Rovers.

There is some good news concerning the Middlesex Senior Cup Final on Easter Monday.  The County has agreed to the suggestion of free entry for children to the match and to a penalty shoot out at half-time and to the idea of multiple mascots.  Assuming we can agree everything with Staines, we will now get to work to put the ideas into practice and there will be more information shortly.
