New Second Team Manager Kelvin Poulter has kindly provided an insight into preparations for the new Suburban League season for supporters. His thoughts are reproduced below:

Typically with Second Team football, the squad and planning take a little longer to get organised as everybody works toward building the First Team. Things are progressing well and we begin on Saturday with a noon kick off versus Staines Lammas. It will very much be a "look and see" sort of match and players will be carefully managed as for many it will be their first game for some time.

Off the field, I am delighted to welcome Andy Richardson who comes with a wealth of experience having coached at Bedfont Sports Reserves last season and managed Old Actonians in the Southern Amateur League for three seasons. Andy is a Level 2 qualified coach and is currently working towards his UEFA B License. On the playing side, Andy was a semi-professional player in Australia and whilst he was there, also completed numerous coaching qualifications.

In addition to Andy, we have Jack Mullan (you may know him!) Jack hasn't given up playing football, he is very keen to begin the FA Coach Licensing programme and will be working towards that with the Suburban League team. Jack is a good lad and of course a useful addition, as we will have someone that can demonstrate far more effectively many of the skills required, which is huge relief to both the Manager and Assitant Manager who, shall we say, are not as young as they used to be and we will leave it there… sshh!

Finally, in August, we will look to add two more coaches both with superb coaching credentials and former semi professional players, more details will follow. Together, we aim to provide a fun and educational environment for the Second Team which will provide a solid base for Paul and his management team which we hope will compliment the first team and push the club forward.
