Ashford Town (Middlesex) and Bishops Cleeve will have to replay on Tuesday after a largely uninspiring FA Cup tie.

The visitors enjoyed a greater share of possession during the first half, but only forced home keeper Paul McCarthy into one serious save, Edward Williams hitting a fierce drive in the second minute. The home team produced the best move of the first period, a fast break releasing Mark Bitmead whose low cross was met by Kofi Lockhart-Adams, whose shot was well saved by Jamie Moore.

The second half was largely contested in midfield, with chances at a premium. The closest either side came to a goal was a 77th minute cross-shot from Ashford’s Samad Kazi, which Moore saved acrobatically.

As a result of the draw this afternoon, the scheduled Calor League match away to Slough Town is postponed and will be rearranged for later in the season.

The Second XI suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 4-3 at Molesey despite two goals from the prolific Joe Lynch. Kelvin Poulter's squad do not have to wait long for their next match, however, as they entertain Westfield in the Suburban League on Monday evening.  Before then, the Ladies conclude their pre-season programme with a home match against Abbey Rangers on Sunday. Kick-off is at 2.00pm and admission is free.
