Following an internal pitch inspection earlier Monday afternoon, tonight’s Suburban League match against Hanworth Villa should be able to go ahead, subject to no further extensive rainfall

The writer was not at the match but it would seem that, despite the fact it was another defeat, Ashford gave high flying Rugby Town a decent match, succumbing only to a solitary goal scored ten minutes from the end by David Kolodynski.  A summary of the match on the Rugby web site describes the Ashford defence as resolute, which is not a term that many would have been reaching for in recent weeks.  it is hopefully a sign that the tables are slowly being turned with certainly no shortage of team spirit.

As things stand at the moment, the 1st Team now have no match for a fortnight, the next outing being on Saturday 9 November, when Royston Town will be the visitors to Short Lane.  The Suburban side though are in action tomorrow evening (Monday) when they entertain Hanworth Villa in a Suburban League match, kick-off 7.45 p.m.

The Under-18’s are also in action on Monday evening, playing away to Hayes & Yeading U18.

Both matches of course will be subject to whatever the forecasted storm may leave us with!
