Ashford travel to 3rd placed Barton Rovers on Saturday and will be in good heart following Monday’s success at Ryman Prem side Enfield Town in the Middlesex Senior Cup, in which, incidentally, we will now be entertaining Harefield United, who knocked out Hayes & Yeading earlier this week.

Ben Murray has appointed Mark Green and Neil Cummings as part of his management team and we welcome both of them back to the club.

Last season Ashford fought out a hard won 2-1 victory at Barton close to the end of the season and then drew at home two apiece three days later but this season Barton have been the surprise package in the division.  They have remained unbeaten in their last six league matches, which include a 4-0 home win over Royston Town and it is necessary to go back to 19 October for their last defeat in the league which was a 1-4 reverse at home to Rugby Town.

It will obviously be another tough match for the Tangerines but Ashford will be buoyed by the midweek signing of Daniel Hughes who captained Chalfont St Peter throughout last season.  Kick-off is 3.00 p.m. and the address of the ground is Sharpenhoe Road (entrance in Luton Road), Barton-Le-Clay, Bedfordshire, MK45 4SD
