Frimley Green

Following an inspection at 1.00 pm, sadly this evening’s match against Frimley has been postponed as the pitch remains waterlogged.

Ashford, unbeaten in 2014, are without a 1st Team midweek match so look forward to next Saturday, when the prospect of dryer weather will hopefully mean that the scheduled match away to Beaconsfield SYCOB, who now have Kofi Lockhart-Adams in their ranks, can go ahead.  More of that later in the week but this evening (Monday) the Suburban side are due to entertain Frimley Green Reserves at Short Lane, kick-off 7.45 p.m.

Whether the game will go ahead or not will be known later in the day but if it does Ben Murray is likely to field a strong team to allow the squad some much needed playing time.  We can now formally welcome both Ben Ewing and Lewis Taylor to the club but Joel Jacobs has departed.  We thank him for his efforts in our colours.  Despite our current situation, Ben continues to work extremely hard on the club’s behalf to strengthen the squad and is talking to three additional players this week.

The Under-18’s who have got themselves off the foot of the table in an extremely competitive division are without a match this week and will resume on Monday 13 January, when they are due to entertain Camberley Town U18 at Short Lane.
