Sadly ex-Ashford player Ray Bridges died earlier today in St. Peters Hospital, aged 64, after suffering from acute liver failure.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Ray was a character and a stalwart of Ashford’s early days.  He was no mean player, scoring any number of goals in the late 60’s and 70’s.

Ray’s brother Alan, who many will also remember and who now lives in Gloucestershire gave us the news this evening.  The funeral arrangements will be advised next week for anyone who may wish to attend.
