We have received confirmation from Kettering this morning that the match has been postponed as the pitch is waterlogged.

Ashford are due to visit Kettering Town on Saturday afternoon, kick-off 3.00 p.m.  The address of the ground is Latimer Park, Polwell Lane, Burton Latimer, Kettering, Northants, NN15 5PS.

Kettering, of course, are a big club and would probably never have expected to find themselves playing at this level but they hit problems and effectively are re-grouping.  After a shaky start to life in the Central Division they now seem to have come to terms and now find themselves in 9th place in the table, just two points off the play-off places.  We have also had a shaky start which sadly has persisted but we carry on in the belief that our squad, whilst clearly not possessing the overall quality of times past, is still far better than our position suggests and that in any number of matches this season we would have taken points with a little greater fortune.  Sometimes it just seems written in the stars but whilst there is hope we shall continue to push on.

That said, we may not even have a chance of pushing on tomorrow as, according to the Kettering web site, the match is in danger due to the wet state of the pitch following a match on Tuesday evening.  There is to be a pitch inspection at 8.30 a.m. and as soon as we know the outcome, we will put the information on our web site.
