Barring any unexpected poor weather, this evening’s U18 match at home to Staines Town U18 is ON

With an apparent easing in the weather conditions, it may be that Tuesday’s fixture, away to neighbours Egham Town will actually go ahead.  Kick-off is 7.45 pm.

Egham have done well in their first season back at this level and have been knocking in plenty of goals when they have been able to play in recent weeks.  Last Tuesday they put five past Horley Town in the Surrey Senior Cup whilst, more telling maybe, they went one better and beat Potters Bar by six goals to nil in their most recent home league match.  On the other side of the coin, rather surprisingly, they lost their previous two home matches against Aylesbury and Beaconsfield SYCOB respectively.

This will be Ashford’s second visit to Tempest Lane this season having previously lost narrowly by three goals to two in the FA Trophy.

The Under-18’s are also due to be in action this week, entertaining Staines Town U18 at Short Lane this evening (Monday), kick-off 7.45 pm.  The writer does not know as yet whether or not this match will be able to go ahead but it may be unlikely as the pitch was completely flooded in places on Saturday.  We will put more news on here as soon as there is any.

The Suburban team are without a match either in midweek or Saturday and resume on Monday week when they are due to entertain Camberley Town Res.

Don’t forget that we have both Sky and BT Sport at the club, and this evening’s massive Premier match between Manchester City and Chelsea will be showing.  It would be good to see some club members actually coming down as all the recent postponements have had an adverse effect upon cash flow with bar income significantly down.
