Ashford will hope to make the most of the improved confidence that has come from the last two matches as they entertain Leighton Town on Saturday.  Opponents Leighton, like ourselves, have endured something of a miserable season and will arrive at Short Lane with just one win from their last 16 league matches, a 3-2 triumph at North Greenford.

Ashford’s display at Leighton earlier in the season will rank as one of the club’s poorest ever efforts and that is another reason for needing another decent display this afternoon.  North Greenford, just outside the relegation places are at home to Daventry today and fair play to them if they get anything from the encounter but if Ashford could manage a win today, it may well put us just six points behind our Middlesex neighbours and give us something to play for over the remaining matches.  Relegation is by no means a certainty yet, certainly not after the way the team has performed over the last two matches.
