A well attended AGM on Thursday 16 May confirmed Dave Baker in his position as Club Chairman, following a challenge from Kelvin Poulter.  Sue Thorne and Iain Messenger have now stood down from running the bar and the Club thanks them for their services.  A new bar manager will be sought in the near future.

Dan Butler returned to the Committee, whilst the appointment of both Bob Lewis and Gareth Coates as Vice-Presidents, following their tireless work for the Club was well received.  Having stepped down from the post of General Secretary, Gareth has been replaced by Keith Balmer, a long time supporter of the club.  The new Membership Secretary is Graham Cooley.

There are a number of events going on at the Club in the coming weeks, including the annual Sri-Lankan festival of sport on Sunday 1 June.  More immediately, the cup finals for the Greater London Womens’ League all take place tomorrow (Sunday 18th).  If anyone is around to lend a hand we will be pleased to see you.

Ashford now know that they have been placed in the Combined Counties League next season, when they will meet some old friends but also a considerable number of new ones, including Spelthorne Sports, one of three promoted from Division One.  The travelling will be much reduced, even more so with the news that both Croydon and Wembley, both of which can be tricky journeys, have been transferred to other leagues.  New players are already being lined up to augment the present squad and the Club will hope for a far better season than the last.
