As anticipated, the national re-structure taking effect from the start of 2018-2019 has seen Ashford transferred from the Evostick League to the Bostik League, or in old terms from the Southern League to the Isthmian.  It will be our third spell in the latter.

There is no doubt that our travelling will greatly decrease with no more trips to the likes of Bedfordhire and Northampton or even Oxfordshire.  Subject to any successful appeals, this is the line-up for next season.

Our longest trips looks to be to Waltham Abbey (47 miles), Ware (46 miles) with Hertford close behind on 43.  Virtually all the others are within 20 miles, so it’s good for us.  There is only one club that we have not previously met in a league match at some point, that club being South Park although we played them in the Surrey Senior Cup last season and we have played friendly matches against them.

The season proper starts on Saturday 11 August and details of pre-season matches will be announced shortly.  Any clubs at Step 5 and above who would be interested in playing us should contact the Club Secretary, Paul Blair on

Other news is that we welcome Conor Moody back to the club as the new Under-18 Manager and we also welcome Roger King, well known in CCL circles, who will be joining the main committee.

Any players who feel they can play successfully at Step 4 level can contact 1st Team manager Ben Murray on  especially in the knowledge that all the very long trips which can put players off have largely been eliminated.

With old CCL rivals, Bedfont Sports and Westfield both in our division and both now strong sides, plus all the other local opponents, an exciting season looks in prospect.
