The Men’s First Team make a welcome return to League action this Saturday when Littlehampton Town are the visitors to the Robert Parker Stadium. The Tangerines have never met the Golds in League football and the only previous match between the clubs was almost 30 years ago. That was an FA Vase Second Round tie, which Ashford won 5-3, although Littlehampton went on to have rather more success in the Vase, reaching the 2022-23 Final at Wembley Stadium.
Ashford go into the match having lost five out of six competitive matches so far this season but although the Ash Trees were beaten by Hendon in midweek, there were plenty of positives to take from the Velocity Cup tie, especially in terms of pushing the early pace setters all the way despite resting leading scorer Jack Arnold.
Littlehampton Town have drawn their last three matches, although the first of those games saw them exit the FA Trophy after Raynes Park Vale won the penalty competition following a 2-2 draw. The Sussex side also registered their first Isthmian League points of the season, thanks to matches at home to Winchester City and away to Harrow Borough, both of which ended 1-1.
Kick off on Saturday is at 3:00pm. The programme, line-up and key match incidents will update in real-time via the Match Centre.
