Ashford Town Women suffered a heavy home defeat on Sunday, conceding six goals to Bromley. The newly-promoted visitors took the lead in the second minute, Charlotte Lee turning an excellent cross into the net.
In the 20th minute, Eleanor Hutchins danced through the defence, scoring an excellent individual goal. The Tangerines were far from their best and went 3-0 down in the 39th minute when Beth Hull volleyed home.
Regrouping at half-time, Ashford pulled a goal back immediately after the break, Sofia Allan lashing a fierce effort into the net. However, Bromley were extremely effective at set pieces and Chana Hinds headed a well struck corner past Libby Stratton. The Ravens then scored an almost identical goal on the hour, Hinds leaving Stratton no chance, such was the power of her header.
Ashford continued to work hard and Amelia Halawi pulled a goal back, rounding the goalkeeper and rolling the ball into the net. However, the visitors had the final word, Jacey Lane scoring with a long range effort in stoppage time.
