Our very successful Ladies team will be playing on Sunday afternoon in the Final of the John Greenacre Cup against Godalming Town Ladies.  It is likely to be a close match and kick-off is 3.00 p.m. at Bedfont Sports.  Ashford had to beat Premier Division side Hemel Hempstead Ladies 3-2 in the semi-final to get there.  It will crown another successful season for the ladies who, after two successive promotions, have finished in 3rd place in Division One of the Greater London Women’s League and are waiting to see if they will be promoted to the Premier Division for next season.  Godalming finished one place higher in second place.

At a meeting earlier this week, Ashford’s Board agreed to strengthen their ties with the Ladies..  They are already embraced but next season we will have a sign at the entrance to the ground proclaiming their name and they will have their own noticeboard at the Club.  Small improvements maybe but we want the Ladies to be ever more involved with the Club.  Manager Will Boye is starting up a B side next season and we already have younger girls training and playing friendlies.  Also, all members of the Ladies will be granted free entry to all Ashford’s 1st Team matches next season.

The standard of football is ever increasing and with free entry to all their league games we need to show them as much support next season as possible when they are playing at home.
