Paul McCarthy confirmed as First Team Manager for 2022/23
We are delighted to confirm that Paul McCarthy will be our man in charge of the First Team for the coming 2022/23 campaign.
“Macca” stepped in to take charge from Dean Greenwood back in early March. He helped keep things steady and secured our Isthmian League position, before going on to finish the season with some silverware in the Southern Combination Cup.
Chairman Nick Bailey commented:
It's fantastic to have Macca on board for next season. Everyone around the club loves him. He has stepped up well and seems to be relishing his new role in the dugout. A good friend outside of the game, I am so happy he has accepted the challenge, and we are looking forward to the new season ahead.
Macca himself is relishing the challenge and is already planning for the new season ahead:
It’s something I’ve been thinking about more and more, as my body has been aching after game days. I have actually really enjoyed doing it over the past few months, so was thrilled to be in the frame for next season. The club's future is looking really promising and I’m pleased that Nick and the board have given me the opportunity to take the team forward.
We are sure that you will all join us in congratulating Macca, and give him and the team your full support in the coming season.
