The club was elected into the Surrey Intermediate League (Western) in 1967, having been rejected 12 months previously. This was a major step up compared with the Hounslow & District League and while the Ash Trees were a little isolated in geographical terms the journeys towards Guildford were logistically easier than the alternatives.
Town’s 15 years of continuous membership is their longest spell in a single League. The championship was claimed once and Ashford were competitive throughout their time in the competition, which is one of the reasons the Ash Trees were invited to become founder members of the Surrey Premier League.
