We are delighted to announce former Aldershot & Cheltenham star Jermaine McGlashen as our Youth Team joint manager, along with experienced non League player and coach Victor Ocansey.
The young Tangerines new management team is now in place for the 2021-2022 season. And the club are delighted to confirm that Jermaine McGlashen and Victor Ocansey will be the Under 18’s joint-managers as we move up to the Isthmian Youth League.
Jermaine played for Ashford in the 2009/10 season before getting his first professional contract at Aldershot Town. Since then, he has gone on to achieve over 200 Football league appearances including notching 26 goals for Cheltenham, Aldershot, Southend and Gillingham.
Jermaine is, like Tuffs, now in the process of his achieving his UEFA A Licence and his years of experience as a professional footballer will be valuable to our young players.
Victor Ocansey is no stranger to our set up having played for our 1st team management team in pre-season last year, and alongside many of our 1st team squad for Knaphill.
Victor is highly respected and has himself coached in the elite game with Tottenham Hotspur’s U15s amongst numerous non league sides. Last season Victor turned out for Hanworth Villa and, like Jermaine, will be looking to continue playing at a senior level too.

"I am absolutely delighted to be back here, I can’t wait to get to work with the boys in pre season."

"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to coach and develop the youth team at Ashford. Buzzing to get started."

First team manager Luke Tuffs is looking forward to welcoming Jermain and Victor to the coaching team, and is relishing working with them to develop the youth set up at the club. Luke had the following to say on the appointments:
We are working very hard off the pitch as well as on it to take the club as a collective forward, from u6s to 1st team and everything in between. We had nearly 30 applicants, and we were slightly blown away by the standard of candidates.
Being able to attract a management team of this standard is a testament to the hard work everyone has done. They’ll be a great partnership, and we will all be very much muddled into one entity. More importantly, they are both good people and will set fine examples to the young players in our ranks.
Jermaine and Victor will have access to the same facilities and technology as the 1st team including Veo, our GPS Vests and all the expected facilities and will be heavily embedded into the club.
We very much look forward to seeing them work with the boys.
Good luck gents!

We hope you will all join us in extending huge Ashford welcome to Jermaine and Victor. And we look forward to the season ahead for them and the Under 18’s.
There will be player trials for the Under 18’s very soon. We will post further details here on the website and across our social media ASAP – WATCH THIS SPACE!
