Following yesterday’s rain and leaden skies this morning, we wait to see if our match away to Fleet Town is on this afternoon/

If it is, the address of the ground is Calthorpe Park, Crookham Road, Fleet, Hampshire GU51 5FA and kick-off is as normal, at 3.00 p.m.  There is a sizeable car park.

Our hosts are currently sitting in 20th position in the table.  Like us their good and bad results seem to have come in clusters, with a particularly good spell in November, disappointingly followed by a long series of draws and defeats.  A closer look shows though that they are usually a force to be reckoned with at home.

Results between our clubs are difficult to predict:  last season Fleet completed a double over us, the match at their ground in February 2017 being one of our lowest points of the season, so poorly did we play that afternoon.  Then, of course, we had one of those evenings earlier this season when just about every chance we created ended in a goal.  That win though will doubtless have made Fleet doubly keen upon getting a result today.  Apart from Mark Bitmead and Joe Green, we should otherwise be at full strength this afternoon, and keen to build upon the recent wins against Kempston (7-1) and Hayes & Yeading (2-1) a fortnight ago.

It does now look absolutely certain that we will be in the Bostick League next season and we will wait with anticipation to see who may be joining us.  We will not miss the longer journeys into the Midlands but we will miss some good friends that we have made in recent seasons.

Good luck to our Ladies who take on Kingstonian tomorrow in the GLWL, kicking off at 2.00 p.m.
