Preview: Marlow v Ashford, Sat 14 Apr 18
As the season starts to wind down, Ashford travel to Marlow this afternoon in the League. Marlow has never been a happy hunting ground for the Tangerines but in the early part of the season we managed to win there in the FA Cup and also won the home fixture. Also the Tangerines have been in good form generally with just one defeat in the last nine. Marlow come into the game in a comfortable 16th position and they would be much higher if their away form matched their home record, suffering only four defeats all season at Oak Tree Road.
Kick-off is 3.00 p.m.as usual and the address of the ground is the Alfred Davis Ground, Oak Tree Road, Marlow, SL7 3ED. Using the M40 it is a journey of just under 25 miles from ground to ground.
After today’s match we have two home games, the first one on Tuesday evening, when we entertain Thame United and then on Saturday when Hartley Wintney are the visitors. There will be a lot going on next Saturday with it being designated a junior day, including a friendly for the Under-7’s beforehand against Laurence Munn’s side of a similar age group. We also have a stag party visiting us as our Company Secretary, Gareth Coates, prepares himself for matrimony. It will be a big match for Hartley as they chase promotion but we will be more than up for it one suspects.
There is also live music in the evening when Kaiya Maxfield will be singing soul and Tamla Motown. More details on that later.
Before then, tomorrow, Sunday, we have another of our bar deal days when during the Arsenal against Newcastle match, you can buy 5 bottles of beer for £12 and a pint of Fosters will cost just £3. Come down and enjoy yourself on the patio in the sun!
