Ashford face a tough match tomorrow away to 4th placed Cheshunt, who have four more points than the Tangerines. They are one of three clubs yet to taste defeat at home in the League this season although of their ten home games, six have resulted in draws. This is the return encounter as Cheshunt visited Short Lane at the beginning of September when the points were shared in a 1-1 draw, Ashford’s scorer being Mark Bitmead.

This will be the first time we have travelled to Cheshunt since 13 October 2001, which also ended all square with neither side able to find the net. Indeed, in a total of just three previous games against our opponents, they have all been draws.

The address of the ground is Cheshunt Stadium, Theobalds Lane, Cheshunt, Herts, EN8 8RU. It is approximately 42 miles ground to ground and shouldn’t take more than an hour, subject always to the exigencies of the M25.

Cheshunt have been unbeaten in the League since 24 November when they lost 1-2 to Egham since when they have either drawn or won. Kick-off is at 3.00 p.m. and admission is £10 (concessions £5). Like ourselves they do an on-line programme and it a good read which you can find on their website:
