The club went into the Central Division of the Southern League after being relegated from the Isthmian League Premier Division and went into this new challenge having been offered a reprieve from relegation which the club turned down due to the place at Step 3 being in the Southern League Premier Division, where Ashford would have been geographically isolated. The club endured a difficult 2010-11 campaign before enjoying a resurgence under club legend Paul Burgess. However, a hugely difficult 2013-14 season saw Ashford return to the Combined Counties League.
