Since the end of the season exactly a month ago, we have been busy in setting in place the foundations for the season ahead.
Firstly, I am extremely happy to welcome Steve Dormer to the management structure. As well as retaining Mark Green, Steve Honey and Martin O’Connell.
Steve joins us with a wealth of experience and am very much looking forward to working with him. He has already met many of the players and knows a lot of contacts within the leagues and will be a vital asset to our management team.
His great man-management skills along with his attention to detail will ensure that he fits exactly right into our club. Myself and Greeny already have a great relationship with him.
I am also pleased to announce that Russ Canderton will be joining the management team for the season ahead, as First Team Coach. Russ will remain as an active playing member of the squad but will also transition his time to coaching the squad also. His knowledge and experience of over 670 games is enough in itself but after conversations in the past few weeks, you can see he has great ambition as a coach and will be invaluable to the squad, whilst also giving himself every opportunity to play.
I have also been busy in other areas of the club. Most notably with our Under 18s, where I am extremely happy to welcome Conor Moody as manager of the squad. Conor is a very organised manager, whose attention to detail is to be commended. A young and well driven coach, who has the experience of playing within our U18s and 1st Team structures in the past.
He has been working tirelessly in the last month and he has informed me that his management staff of Adam Norwood and David Gully are both set and relishing the prospect of the Bostik Youth League.
I hope everyone is enjoying the break and will come back in July raring to go, we have had some very optimistic news on the player front but also will keep level headed and realise that no signing is set in stone until the signing on forms are released in July.
I look forward to updating you all soon
